Current Issues in Middle Level Education (CIMLE) is the journal of the National Association of Professors of Middle Level Education (NAPOMLE). The purposes of the National Association of Professors of Middle Level Education are to:

  • Provide a professional network to enhance the exchange of information and ideas, as well as, to encourage the discussion of topics related to the preparation of middle level educators,
  • Contribute to the development of an expanded middle level research base, and provide additional means for sharing and disseminating current research and ideas among those interested in middle level education,
  • Serve actively as advocates for the middle school movement, especially in terms of promoting middle level concepts among various publics commonly dealt with in the preparation of middle level educators, and
  • Share in the advocacy for the middle school movement by supporting the stated purposes and goals of the Association for Middle Level Education.

CIMLE is committed to the dissemination of research-based, best-practices articles based on the Association of Middle Level Education's position statement on the professional preparation of middle level teachers.

The Coastal Review: An Online Peer-reviewed Journal (Journals)

The Coastal Review is an open access, peer-reviewed journal published by the Department of World Languages and Cultures at Georgia Southern University. Indexed by EBSCO and MLA International Bibliography, The Coastal Review publishes and promotes interdisciplinary scholarship from the Southeast United States and beyond. The journal publishes original research articles in the field of World Languages, including but not limited to Arabic, Classics, French, German, East Asian languages, and Spanish, and studies of language, literature, culture, pedagogy, and film.

The Coastal Review invites manuscripts on an open and rolling basis and publishes articles as soon as they are accepted. In addition, presenters at the annual Southeast Coastal Conference on Languages and Literatures (SECCLL) are encouraged to submit an extended and thoroughly revised manuscript of their presentation for possible inclusion in the Journal. The Coastal Review may also solicit manuscripts and publish special issues from time to time.
