Wiley Nessmith family letters

This collection consists of correspondence from Wiley Nessmith to his wife, Martha Ann Nesmith written during the Civil War from 1862-1865. Also included are typed transcripts, published and unpublished materials on the Nessmith family, and correspondence between Franklyn Hatch and the Nessmith family concerning the letters.

William A. Hagins papers

This collection contains the papers of William Archer Hagins, Sr. from 1919-2005. Included within the collection are written letters, V-Mail, military documents, and legal documents concerning Hagins’ service in the United States Army during World War I and World War II. Additional materials related to the Hagins Family including William Archer Hagins, Jr., prominent American medical researcher, are included and consist of family photographs and genealogical research materials

William Cullen Elder correspondence

This collection consists of photocopied correspondence to William Cullen Elder from 1938 to 1942. Materials include handwritten letters to Elder from his mother and brother at Taylor's Creek, and two letters to Wilbur Elder while he was a Marine, ca. 1942.

This collection consists of papers and files belonging to Dr. William Schubert. Materials span 1975 to 2014 and include papers and articles written or edited by Schubert, correspondence with colleagues and organizations, files pertaining to his advising work, awards won by Schubert, and classroom syllabi throughout the years.

William Lawton Brannen certificates

Spanning 1918-1986, this collection consists of certificates and honors bestowed upon William Lawton Brannen from Governor L.G. Hardman of the State of Georgia, the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Savannah Alee Shriners Temple, The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Georgia, The Kiwanis International Club of Georgia, and The Imperial Council of Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine for North America.

William M. Rigdon papers
Zach S. Henderson Library Special Collections
This collection consists of correspondence, official military records, clippings, press releases, reports, memoranda, photographs, printed material, two unpublished manuscripts, and a diary (1941) recording William M. Rigdon’s naval service as the United States entered World War II. The materials pertain to Rigdon’s naval service, particularly as the Assistant Naval Aide (1942-1953) to Presidents Roosevelt and Truman, and after his retirement from the Navy, as Executive Manager of the Virginia Hotel Company. Topics documented by the collection include descriptions of Manila before and during World War II, the Potsdam Conference, and the origins of the Democratic Club in Washington, D.C.

W. S. Miller business ledgers

Spanning 1917-1959, this collection consists of twenty-four daybooks belonging to W. S. Miller, a merchant planter and cotton buyer from Rocky Ford, Georgia. Materials serve as the general store’s financial ledgers, including a detailed breakdown of the 1943 retail prices for several popular items.

Zach S. Henderson Library Special Collections
This collection consists of the transcripts, original cassette tape recordings of public speeches, lectures, and oral history interviews spanning from 1962-2007. Interviews were conducted and recorded by Georgia Southern University’s Department of History and Zach S. Henderson Library Special Collections. Those interviewed are mostly locals to Bulloch County and neighboring counties. Interviewees discuss their personal and family lives, historical events they were a part of, and circumstances surrounding their successes. The public speeches and lectures originated from an assortment of sources.
