Abstract
This article presents an inquiry-based lesson aligned to Georgia’s SS8H1 standard, guiding students to investigate Spanish exploration and its impact on American Indians. Through primary and secondary sources, vocabulary support, and the RACE strategy, students analyze motivations such as faith, fortune, and fame to develop evidence-based historical understanding.
