Abstract

Our presentation focuses on discussing the results and lessons learned from a two year faculty learning community at Georgia Gwinnett College. The faculty learning community focused on developing active learning classroom activities to enhance career readiness in classroom environments. Specifically, our presentation will provide examples of classroom activities developed to enhance career awareness, communication, team building and work professionalism. Our research methodology includes an experimental pre-test/post-test design.Our presentation will highlight importance of integrating career readiness early on among students. We will discuss relevant questions centered on the challenges in integrating career readiness classroom activities in gateway courses.
