Abstract

Dr Whelan has made a study of Baptist letters in various British archives. The introduction to this calendar, which is helpfully collated with letters in the Isaac Mann Collection, looks at how the Rylands’ collection was assembled. Whelan’s transcriptions of many of these letters will be published in Baptist Autographs at the John Rylands University Library of Manchester, 1741-1845, Mercer 2009.
