Assessment and SoTL - Research
Abstract
Despite the importance of empathy in industry, little is known about the empathy of students in sport management and communication disciplines. The purpose of this research is to describe the levels of empathy of undergraduate students in sport management and communication disciplines. Surveys consisting of demographic questions and the Toronto Empathy Questionnaire (Spreng et al., 2009) were sent to undergraduate students. Results should help educators in these disciplines better understand their students and begin to discuss the role of empathy in their curriculum.
