Basic Scientist To Medical Educator: Challenges And Strategies To Cope With The Transition
Conference Tracks
Teaching Practices (Poster Only) – Analysis, synthesis, reflection, and discussion
Abstract
There is growing body of evidence that shows the leaning of research scientists from wet bench research to medical education. Encountering challenges while transitioning from a basic scientist to medical educator is inevitable. Several challenges have been described, while assuming the role of an educator. This poster unearths challenges faced by a basic scientist during transition and aims to reveal strategies to create a competent educator by efficiently incorporating knowledge gained as an academic scientist.
