Abstract
While there has been a substantial amount of work on developing tests that measure statistical anxiety, surprisingly there doesn’t appear to be an assessment comparing students’ statistical learning to changes in their statistical anxiety. I administered the STARS test of statistical anxiety and the CAOS test of statistical comprehension at the beginning of an undergraduate statistics class this Fall 2021 and will administer them again at the end. I will test the null hypothesis of no relationship against the alternative hypothesis that that an improvement in statistical comprehension is associated with a reduction in statistical anxiety (overall and its subcomponents).
