About SoTL – Analysis, synthesis, reflection, and discussion
Abstract
Reflective practice involves learning from experience for greater self-awareness and enhanced practical problem solving. SoTL scholars have embraced reflective critique, and it is now instrumental to rigorous SoTL scholarship. The purpose of this presentation is to present the development and reapplication of a reflective practice manuscript guide for the Journal of Scholarly Engagement. The presentation will include a discussion of the development of the guide, its application to the current journal, its reapplication to a SoTL journal, and lessons learned. Attendees will be able to assess the value of the reflective practice guide for documenting both application/integration and SoTL scholarship.
