Online Learning – Research
Abstract
Graduate students are not prepared for advanced level dialogue and critical analysis. This case example demonstrates the implementation of Knowles Adult Learning theory for quality improvement in online Master of Science in Nursing courses. Students used VoiceThread© to develop brief presentations including verbal, written, and visual content. The innovative use of asynchronous discussion with prompts allows students to demonstrate involvement in their education and authentically connect their dialogue to their life in a problem-centered context. Application of Knowles Adult Learning Theory with VoiceThread© technology orients adult learners to the dialogue of nursing scholarship and supports adult learning in online education.
