Dr. TeShaunda Hannor-Walker is CEO of Walker & Hannor-Walker, LLC, a Licensed Clinical Therapist, Associate Professor at Liberty University, and author of How to Raise a Successful Child with ADD. She served 15 years in the public schools and was named, The American School Counselor Association’s "Top Ten School Counselors in America." She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Dr. Hannor-Walker has presented at local, state, and national conferences for over a decade on various counseling topics.

Second Presenter's Brief Biography
Sarah Kitchens, Ph.D., LPC, NCC is a professor at Liberty University and a therapist at a private practice. Dr. Kitchens counsels individuals, families, and couples in various walks of life. Prior to joining the faculty in 2013, Dr. Kitchens worked as a professional school counselor, serving both the elementary and secondary levels in both public and private schools. Dr. Kitchens has authored several professional publications, as well as several book chapters.
Third Presenter's Brief Biography
Dr. Ricks is a licensed School Counselor (preK-12), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a National Certified School Counselor (NCSC). She has seven years of experience as a school counselor and two years of experience as a career and college coach. She began her career as an Assistant Professor in 2014. Dr. Ricks, who is currently an associate professor, has presented at state, regional, and national levels in the areas of poverty, disabilities, Narrative Therapy, identity development, and advocacy. Her primary research foci are poverty and diversity.

Based on research, schools in America are not prepared to identify or work with children impacted by the commercial exploitation of children. This session more than any other session directly impacts every child in America because it’s a human rights issue that impacts schools and communities near each of us. A school-based model designed for school counselors to help identify and support this population is critical in mitigating this human crisis. This session can assist in this effort.

Participants will be able to learn both the risk factors, warning signs for identifying victims, and laws connected to Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC).

Participants will be able to learn evidence-based approaches, screening tools, and a school-based model that can be used in schools and in the community.

Participants will be able to learn various trauma-informed practices and preventive measures schools counselors can implement to help end the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC).
