First Presenter's Brief Biography

I have been a school counselor at Pine Log Elementary for 19 years and been in public education for 23 years. Prior to this I worked for 4 years in community mental health. I also have a great amount of experience in mobile crisis counseling throughout the state of Georgia. In addition, my husband and I own a small private practice, Livingston's Consulting Group, where we conduct clinical supervision and mental health trainings.

Brief Program Description

In every school there are students dealing with mental health issues. Think about all your staff. Are they proficient in handling all types of mental health crisis. Participants will learn school-wide strategies for both staff and students to better interact with those having emotional difficulties. In addition, participants will develop some techniques to better meet these students' emotional needs, reduce the occurrence & severity of the crisis, and provide for a therapeutic return to the school setting following a crisis, including hospitalization.
