Abstract
This study explores the career decision-making processes of Higher Education/Student Affairs (HE/SA) graduate students by examining the influence of institutional exposure on job preferences. Through qualitative analysis, the research reveals that HE/SA graduate students, when exposed to unfamiliar types of institutions, may expand their job search parameters and develop new career interests. The study underscores the significance of introducing students to diverse institutional environments as a pedagogical strategy, highlighting its potential to enrich the professional preparation of future student affairs educators. Implications for enhancing career development practices within HE/SA programs are discussed.
