Description

This presentation will explore the works I submitted for my assessment portfolio in my Senior Portfolio class this semester and reflect upon my professional growth as an English major. The works I will discuss correlate to the Student Learning Outcomes you are to reach as an English major at Georgia Southern. The artifacts highlight research, analysis, audience, and process. My research paper, “Inclusive Language: The Responsibility of an Editor,” shows my ability to synthesize multiple sources to prove my thesis. My analysis paper, “The Working Class,” shows my ability to analyze and interpret the rhetorical situation of a text. I will review a style sheet I created that addresses a specific audience which displays my ability to anticipate readers’ needs and expectations. I will also highlight how these works have contributed to my professional development in gaining specific skills to enter a career, which includes writing, reading comprehension, communication, and research.
