Abstract

Throughout the history of modern warfare, a soldier’s issued equipment consisted of a uniform, a weapon and its ammunition, food, water, and a means to carry it all on the march. The uniforms and equipment issued by the different neutral militaries is a good reflection of their greater military doctrine, as field dress provides us with insight into what their governments thought an individual soldier needed to fulfill their orders.
