Wellness for Teacher Educators

What does wellness for teacher educators look like? Why is wellness important for teacher educators? In Spring 2022, the National Association of Professors of Middle Level Education (NAPOMLE) and the Middle Level Education Research Special Interest Group (MLER SIG) of the American Educational Research Association will have co-hosted a session on teacher educator wellness. This special issue of CIMLE grows from that session to include leaders and attendees from that session, as well as voices of other middle level teacher educators.

We invite you to submit your manuscript on different understandings of and approaches to teacher educator wellness, including but not limited to:

  • Understanding and identifying why we are stressed
  • The meaning of compassion fatigue and how it manifests
  • Knowing our purpose and finding ways to embrace it
  • Self-care - more than just yoga and mindfulness.

Submissions may be reports of research, descriptions of best practices, reviews or syntheses of research, or descriptions of programs or initiatives. Typical length for articles ranges from 8-20 pages.

Submissions are due: July 30, 2022
