Title: Digital Management for Hypertension under COVID-19

Date: August 30, 2021

Abstract: Digital health encompasses a broad scope of tools that engage patients for clinical purposes; collect, organize, interpret and use clinical data; and manage outcomes and other measures of care quality. This includes, but is not limited to, digital solutions involving telemedicine and telehealth, mobile health (mHealth), wearables (e.g., Fitbit), remote monitoring, apps, and others. COVID-19 brings a new, but life-threatening challenge, to our society. Epidemiological evidence shows that we are required to live with COVID-19, but it brings a new opportunity for Digital Health.

In this presentation, Prof. Tsoi will present their experience of using digital health technology for blood pressure management. Although all studies and services were affected by the outbreak of COVID-19, this is a new opportunity to promote digital health, including mobile health, telemedicine, and other Artificial Intelligence applications. Now, we have more journals in the field of digital health, such as Lancet Digital Health, BMJ Innovations, NPJ Digital Medicine, PLOS Digital Health. The discussion of the upcoming research trends will also be covered by the end of the presentation.
