Abstract

This major is a favorite of people who, obviously, have a love of music, performance, and composition. The Performance major (Composition, Instrumental, Piano, and Voice) is for students who wish to train for professional positions in music. The Music Education major is for students who would like a career teaching music in a P-12 setting. At the elementary-school level, this is a General Music curriculum, while at the middle- and high-school levels, this is generally directing choirs, bands, and orchestras.
