Abstract

Effective writing curricula attend to the local (place), but also the boundaries of specific institutions. Faculty must, simultaneously, consider the “best practices” of a field and the situated nature of institutional contexts. This interactive panel considers how curriculum development based on programmatic understanding of student populations shapes classroom practice in First-Year English.
