The Article of the Week as the Foundation for Secondary Writing Improvement

Abstract

Drawing on observations made during creative writing classes at Cherokee County jail, this session will examine the conversational element that naturally occurs in any authentic communal-writing setting. Conversation both fosters relationships within writing groups and serves as the most effective way for students to gain context on written feedback. Attendees will take part in written and conversational feedback on a piece of writing.
