Teaching Composition in a Visual World
Abstract
The presenters will offer three approaches to incorporating the visual into the composition classroom: (1) how to design and scaffold a series of writing assignments which can be adapted into a large-scale digital project; (2) how and why to use an infographic syllabus in the composition classroom; and (3) how to effectively teach poetry as not just written but visual texts.
