Teaching Practices (Poster Only) – Analysis, synthesis, reflection, and discussion
Abstract
Instructors know that teaching a concept requires expertise and a thorough understanding of the topic. Instructors can leverage that idea and build expertise in the classroom by having students teach or discuss a challenging concept as a learning tool in college courses. The authors utilized Flipgrid, an online video tool, where students were asked to capture and upload videos of themselves discussing a concept to share among their classmates on the platform. We captured student feedback on the effectiveness of learning by creating these videos as well as their perspective on using the tool in future classes.
