About SoTL – Analysis, synthesis, reflection, and discussion
Abstract
This proposed presentation fits the analysis, synthesis, reflection and discussion area of SoTL Commons. SoTL’s focus on the community of learners/commons (Huber & Moreale, 2002; Gilpin & Liston, 2009) presents a shift in focus towards student engagement throughout the learning process. The presenters begin by highlighting trauma-informed pedagogy as important for establishing the commons. Audience members will discuss the applications of these strategies to their own classrooms, and the presentation will end with a debriefing, sharing of the implementation of trauma-informed pedagogical strategies within SoTL contexts.
