Abstract
The research process can accentuate developing information literacy skills – planning, finding, and evaluating sources – along with teaching writing and citation skills required for academic argumentation. Deliberate building of skills through summary, analysis, and integration / synthesis requires deliberate scaffolding of writing skills along with goals of developing information literacy in First Year Composition (FYC).
