Abstract
Plickers are a free assessment tool based on the idea of clickers. They are a formative assessment tool that allows the instructor to collect on the spot data to inform instruction. This talk will review the use of Plickers in an Elementary Statistics class. Students are surveyed periodically during the lecture about the material being covered, based this data the instructor is instantly able to assess students’ understanding and adjust the material covered. This is a fun and useful way to engage the students in the material, and preliminary analysis shows improved student satisfaction and improved student performance the course.
