Abstract
This interactive session will focus on thinking creatively about how to teach students to think creatively. A renewed emphasis on entrepreneurship has led to specialized courses in innovation, but comparatively little attention has been paid to strategies faculty might use to enable students to engage in creative problem solving within disciplines. Our study looks at the impact of several classroom-based exercises on the ability of undergraduate business students (n=120) to engage in creative problem solving. We not only found that student abilities improved, but we identified best practices for others seeking to encourage students to think outside the box.
