Support for Sotl in a Faculty Learning Community
Abstract
Just starting out in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning community? So are we! The panel members in this session are all participants of a faculty learning community focusing on SoTL. The goals of this session are to share how the FLC facilitators planned the activities, how we are learning about SoTL together, and the projects we are implementing this semester. These include: Comparing effectiveness of different reflective tasks on students' ability to apply course content (linguistics) to real-world language use ; Investigating entrepreneurial drive in PharmD. Students; Assessment of client education handouts in veterinary professional education. Session attendees can expect to learn how the FLC is providing learning opportunities and support, as well as some issues that arise in the midst of implementing SoTL projects. Attendees will share methods used to learn about SoTL and how they find support on their campuses and in the SoTL community.
