Abstract

This session is designed for educators and learners across disciplines interested in how technology in the classroom impacts/influences the psychological teaching and learning climate of institutions in higher education. The experience begins with a brief presentation of results from research that investigated the nature of the teaching and learning psychological climate on the Alliant International University , Scripps Ranch campus. To this end, the term, “psychological teaching and learning climate' will be discussed with specific reference to how it is being influenced by the new iClass technology on the campus. This will generate some insight for discussion among session participants of their own experiences with teaching and/or learning climates and technology in the classroom. We will complete the experience by recording key positive attributes of technology in the classroom and strategies for using it to create positive and productive teaching and learning psychological classroom/institutional climates.
