Driven By Principle: Creating A Program From The Ground Up
Abstract
Over the past year, faculty at Georgia Gwinnett College have had the opportunity to build a unique psychology program based on informed theory, best practices research, and interdisciplinary modes of thinking. This poster outlines how the scholarship of teaching and learning was used to create such a program that encourages critical thinking, fosters life-long learning, and promotes continued growth and self-assessment. The goal of this poster is twofold: 1) to explain the process used at Georgia Gwinnett College to develop the program, and 2) to review the program's construction. As such, the reader will be focused on the fundamental aspects of developing and implementing a program that truly engages today's students.
