Relevance to Primary Strand

In a day where school safety is so widely debated, this presentation highlights the Amazon best-selling book “Education in a Violent World: A Practical Guide to Keeping Our Kids Safe” and is part of a program called "School Safety 101” which provides legislators, boards, teachers and all other stakeholders with practical experiences dealing with child behaviors and includes law enforcement’s role in the future of education. Keeping our kids safe is more than just policing – it is about connecting with students and parents. Dr. Steve Webb discusses new safety threats and common-sense tactics to work with children and their families cooperatively to prevent, identify and mitigate threats after returning from the traumatic experiences of a pandemic so that children can learn without fear throughout their schooling and teachers can instruct in an environment that embraces a culture of awareness of the changing times.
