Description of Lecture
The rural community of Pin Point is only a short distance from Savannah geographically, but a vast distance culturally. Supplemented by slides and artifacts, this lecture will explore the lifestyles and stories of the fishermen, net makers, crab pullers, and oyster shuckers who dwell in this African American fishing community. Come along as we examine not only the oral history of Pin Point, but also its vernacular architecture.
