Social media use impacts not only children, but the entire community as well. In order to make sure kids have a safe and productive relationship with social media, it's imperative we talk about all aspects of it on a social/emotional level.
Brief Program Description
The audience will learn about the latest social media trends, and what's new, what's now and what's next when it comes to kids on social media. Attendees will learn how to help facilitate a healthy and positive social media experience.
Summary
Keeping up with this generation can be a full-time job as technology, social media, and apps come and go constantly. This presentation will cover all the latest social media trends and apps and uncover some hidden features within popular apps such as Instagram and Snapchat. Come learn all about these apps and how to keep up with these digital-natives’ rampant tech use.
Evidence
Through thousands of presentations to students, school staff, administrators and law enforcement throughout the country, this method has proven effective in keeping parents and professionals informed about the current trends in the digital world. Through working daily with children, the information is collected, analyzed, then shared, giving attendees "grassroots" information on current trends pertaining to social media and kids.

Biographical Sketch
Previously of the MA Attorney General's Office and MA State Police, Katie Greer travels the country working with and educating law enforcement, communities, school staff/administration and students on social media and tech/Internet safety best practices. Katie serves as a media industry expert, and has been featured on CNN, The O'Reilly Factor, The Meredith Vieira Show, Inside Edition, and in media such as The Huffington Post, TIME Magazine, The Boston Globe, USA Today, Proctor & Gamble, Parents Magazine and more.
