A Characterization of Regular Rings

Abstract or Description

We show that a noetherian ring R is regular if and only if each complex of injective R-modules is semi-injective if and only if each acyclic complex of injective R-modules is contractible. Analogous results are established for complexes of flat modules and of projective modules.
