Abstract or Description
Methods for the construction of constrained and smoothing subdivided surfaces will be presented. The methods are based on existing interpolatory variational subdivision schemes and standard methods in constrained optimization. One type of constraint considered is near-interpolatory, meaning that the original vertices are required to be in the proximity of prescribed points, to within tolerances. Another type are blended rectangular curve networks.
