Purpose
The Georgia Southern University perimeter and application firewall provides the first layer of network security to university technology assets and institutional data. Exposing University IT resources to unsecured and uncontrolled paths presents significant security and liability risks to the University community and the University’s technology infrastructure. Appropriate controls and protections are required to mitigate these risks, preserve, and protect University IT and data assets.
