Description
The objective of this project is to manufacture and program a door actuator. The project will automatically open the door when an AVA telepresence robot is recognized by a sensor. However, the sensor will need to distinguish the difference between the robot and other miscellaneous foot traffic. Also, the actuator needs to be able to withstand the impact of forklifts ramming the door. Another constraint with this project is that the door moves vertically as well as horizontally. These constraints as well as others led the team to make the current design and prototype.
