Description

Partnered with Dr. Alexander Post from Augusta University Medical Center in order to design and manufacture a new medical retractor with a tubing clamp for neurosurgical application. This design will isolate movement of the tubing that goes within the brain for surgeries like ventriculostomy which requires the insertion of a catheter used to drain cerebrospinal fluid from the ventricles of the brain. Isolating motion of the tube or catheter is paramount to decreasing risk in complications for patients undergoing operations such as this. A patent for this design will be applied for after successful creation of the final prototype.
