Abstract
Undergraduate Research is one of the several High Impact Practices that help support engaged learning (Kuh, 2008). In 2014, the Honors Program and the Center for Irish Teaching and Research at Georgia Southern University partnered to integrate undergraduate research into a study abroad program. This project involved eleven honors students conducting archival research in both the United States and Ireland in an intensive five week program. Furthermore, the research was interdisciplinary, utilizing both social scientific and humanistic approaches. This presentation will outline the strategies we employed and engage audience members in conversation about how various High Impact Practices can be combined to enhance learning environments for undergraduates.
