Abstract
This presentation aims to explore Testimonios as a research method and methodology. This research procedure is a collaborative inquiry. It implies a process where researchers actively engage with participants, and experts to collectively explore a particular subject or phenomenon (Deeb-Sossa, 2019). Unlike traditional research methods where data collection is often one-sided, Testimonio as collaborative inquiry emphasizes a mutual exchange of knowledge and perspectives.
This research inquiry follows Testimonios as research methodology (research design, data collection, data analysis, philosophical assumptions, theoretical framework, ethical considerations, positionality, findings, etc.). The project not only applied testimonio as a research methodology but also used testimonio as a product in the form of personal narratives. Furthermore, this endeavor utilizes testimonios as a method, involving a three-stage process: testimonios interviews, a participatory approach, and analysis.
The study considers Latinx Curriculum Theorizing, Chicana/Latina Studies, Latin Critics, and Cross-cultural Studies.
Keywords
