Abstract

From the moment the application for admission is submitted to acceptance into the doctoral program, three candidates undergo a myriad of experiences – from reflecting on the past, facing daily challenges, and planning for the future – ready to attain the next steps as doctoral professionals and seeking to be born again into the research process.

The conceptual model will be informed by the preliminary findings of three doctoral professionals. The common characteristic of the action research participants will be program admission and completion of the research methods course in the first semester. The presentation will be based on an informed conceptual framework of reflective research and interpersonal action research experiences- ARC (Action Research Consciousness). The preliminary findings will be reported from the 16-week course, in which the professor of record will serve as the Moderating variable in the process. The doctoral professionals will be viewed as the independent variables, who engaged in the freedom of research with an outcome of the “Research Mini Proposals” and whose topics will be viewed as the dependent research exploratory preliminary variables. The expected outcome for the paper presentation should be three informed reflective action research reports of experiences. Hence, the scholarship of engagement will be based on informed perspectives of research interest and discovery during the genesis of the doctoral experience.
