Abstract

The study is designed to identify the factors that enhance teacher preparation programs toward increasing the underrepresented males of color as part of the teacher pipeline. This investigation is part two in a larger research project under two different IRB’s. Part one was an investigation of the top motivating factors that encourage males of color in a teacher preparation program. There were four factors identified by the males of color students in the School of Education at an HBCU with 20% of the student population—a significant outlier when compared to the national average
