Abstract

Research that is action- and impact-based impacts the lives of those most challenged. By expanding research opportunities to other stakeholders beyond those typically found in higher education (i.e. teacher researchers, parent researchers, etc.) we are better able to deploy bottom-up strategies that provide us with a better understanding of how to expand educational opportunities, access, models, and innovations in the K-12 via individual narratives. The purpose of this study is to share 'best practice' models about research proliferation and to engage participants in understanding the important role that research dissemination may have on the lives of those living in fragile communities.

Keywords

educational opportunity, K-12, fragile communities, bottom-up approaches
