Georgia B. Watson papers

The Georgia B. Watson papers at Georgia Southern University offer a window into the life and work of Georgia Watson- psychologist, educator, veteran officer, and community leader. This digital collection features selected correspondence, photographs, and other materials that highlight her groundbreaking academic career and World War II service in the Women’s Army Corps.

Additional materials documenting her role at Georgia Southern, including her efforts to establish the Psychology major and appointment as the first female Professor are available to researchers at Henderson Library Special Collections. For more information, visit the Georgia B. Watson Finding Aid.

Researchers are also invited to explore a digital exhibition curated by graduate student Alyssa Watrous. More Than Meets the Eye examines how Georgia Southern women shaped the Women’s Army Corps.
