This poster session will discuss the Pragda Spanish Festival that the Troy University Library and Troy University Modern Language Department hosted for the students. This Film Featival produced many positive benefits including included faculry interaction with the library. Increased interaction between the students and the library resources. The students were also introduced to different dialects of Spanish and different cultures without leaving the campus. The festivals have been a great benefit to the University community.

Presentation Description

The Troy University Library in association with the Troy University Modern Language Department has taken part in serveral of the Pradga Spanish Film Festivals over the last four years. These film festivals have had several positive benefits for the students and professors of Troy University. Some of these include increased resources and interaction with the Library Faculty.

Session Goals

To introduce people to different film series/festivals that Libraries and Language departments can work together on. These Film series not only introduce students to different languages and cultures but inteoduce to the Academic Library and resources. It also promotes interdepartmental sharing of resources across the university.
