The soundness of the U.S. financial system is under immense scrutiny once again. With rubble from the global financial crisis still in our rearview, the largest technology IPO from Facebook - and subsequent flop - in history and a multi-billion dollar loss from JP Morgan Chase (our nation’s largest bank) suggest that financial markets may be suffering from a prolonged bout of amnesia. Again, markets are engulfed in whirlwinds of misleading behavior, excessive risk taking, mismanaged capital and poor judgment...
