Description
These data were collected as part of a study which examined multilayer forest characteristics following the removal of Ligstrum sinense (Chinese privet) from a forested wetland in Bulloch County, Georgia, USA. Field data collected include litter composition, Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR), soil moisture, herb layer species composition, density of herbs, and cover percentage of each species, percent cover Microstegium vimineum, woody species density, shrub layer species composition, density of shrubs, shrub height, shrub basal area calculated from diameter at ground height (DGH), and tree layer species composition, tree density and diameter at breast height (DBH).

Methodology
Percentages of plant cover and litter cover were measured using a reference card. Tree DBH was collected using DBH tape. Shrub diameter at ground height was measured with DBH tape. PAR was collected using a Decagon AccuPAR ceptometer. Soil moisture was measured by collecting soil samples, weighing, drying at 80C until no moisture remained, and reweighing.
