Abstract

The Wormsloe Historic Site Landscape Map investigates the changes in environmental history of Wormsloe Historic Site while focusing on the history of the land usage in the area and the effects of changes upon the site. The archives used in this project include Remaking Wormsloe Plantation: The Environmental History of a Lowcountry Landscape, by Drew Swanson, research and interviews from the Wormsloe Institute of Environmental History, and maps from the University of Georgia and the Library at Wormsloe. This comprehensive map furthers awareness of the research done at Wormsloe Historic Site and provides education to visitors by combining maps of all ages to create a visual representation of the past, present and future of Wormsloe Historic Site.
