Purpose

To accept credit card payments, Georgia Southern University (University) must prove and maintain compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). The University Payment Card Policy and additional supporting documents provide the requirements for processing, transmission, storage, and disposal of cardholder data transactions. Compliance with these standards reduces the institutional risk associated with the administration of credit card payments by individual departments, and protects the university from liability, and to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of university information systems, data, and network resources.
