The No. 2-ranked Grand Valley State University women's soccer squad tallied two goals in an eight-minute stretch late in the first half, snapping a 1-1 tie to claim a 3-1 season-opening victory over visiting and No. 3-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State University on Friday evening in Allendale, Mich.
