Abstract

I am Jazmine Murphy, I am a soldier and I am Georgia Southern. Murphy is a former drill sergeant with the Army and currently a Cadet with the Eagle Battalion at Georgia Southern. She earned a Green to Gold scholarship, which provides active-duty enlisted soldiers an opportunity to complete a baccalaureate degree or a two-year graduate degree and earn a commission as an Army Officer. Thousands apply every year, and only a few hundred are selected for scholarships.

Murphy has found her home with the Georgia Southern ROTC program and serves as a mentor to her fellow Cadets. After graduation, she hopes to continue her career with the Army and be a positive influence for others.
